Freshwater Pearls are cultured by the fishermen in China. They cultivate the pearls by placing small pieces of live tissue into Mussel shells where they continue to grow. Once harvested the pearls have adopted the colour of the inside of the shell they have grown in.
This necklace is of a classic design made up with 6mm genuine white freshwater pearls. The silver plated "Nickel Free" clasp has been added to comply with EU directives and this is set with a white freshwater pearl cabochon too.
